As we head into some warmer weather (thank the Gods), I’m looking forward to a lot. Back to gardening- It’ll be time soon to plant some seeds. Basil, tomatos, lettuce, beans…I’d love to do some grapes. Anna and I are planning out our garden areas. We also have our garage which may become a greenhouseContinue reading “Warm Weather Ahead”

Finding Forms
Screenplay? Novel? Short story? Poem? How do we discover the form our story takes? An example is my screenplay The French Baker, which chronicles a Frenchman’s experience during WWII. Not only do I still play with the plotline, but I wondered if it craves another form. Would it benefit more as a long-form narrative? TheContinue reading “Finding Forms”
When September Ends
Holy smokes! Is September gone?! Somebody has to wake me up! Since the beginning of August, I have been acquiring gear and working on a portfolio to set up my new career as videographer. It’s been a lot of work, but I’ve enjoyed it greatly. Granted, there have been times of doubt and worry, butContinue reading “When September Ends”
Motivation

Leaving Teaching
I’m not sure where I’ll go next or what I’ll do, but I still want to serve society and educate people. I think my time in the classroom is done for now. This was one of the hardest things I’ve done. But I know, in the long run, it’ll be worth it. I need to feel successful. I need to feel that I am doing good work.

Background information relevant to this post: I teach high school level Video Production. I had a tough day teaching. I have been for a while, wondering if I’ve lost my mojo. I attempted starting the day with positivity. I wanted to have a great day. But I have put myself in a pickle, allowing studentsContinue reading “May 13, 2021”

Howdy-do! The name is Nick Bucci. If you haven’t read the bio: I am a teacher, writer, and photographer. You should also know that I enjoy the Oxford Comma. I’m not really sure what the purpose of the blog will be other than quenching my desire to write. If I create a commitment, I haveContinue reading “Salutations”
