Recently overwhelmed with life (don’t worry! I’m fine!), I have very few fresh words to provide. However, I will be visiting the “Europe of North America” this weekend. That is to say: Montreal. And as Winter Break finally arrives, I hope there’s some time to write something more…of substance. The past couple of days, I have been reflecting on travel, re-reading posts from my 2023 European trip. I’m updating the SEO, reminiscing, and analyzing how Paris received six posts, while others received just one.
Here’s one of those old posts about visiting Museums…unless you would like to hear about cheap beer?

SEO Work
SEO (search engine optimization) is my least favorite aspect of blog writing. I’m much more focused on the creative endeavor over properly tagging, keyword naming, and adding meta descriptions. Unfortunately, if I want people to read my content, SEO work is necessary. I’ve just about finished working through my first six posts. They aren’t perfect, but they’re better. Even mentioning similar posts might encourage folks to read more. That is…if my writing is even worthy…
Travel Reflections
While I considered a massive rehaul of several posts, I deemed it unnecessary. One of the best parts about reading old posts is to feel the excitement I had in the moment. Even the words jumped onto the page, ready to put on a show. Whether or not the show was good is besides the point. The purpose of these was to document my adventure and allow future Nick — who is now present Nick — to read these with pleasure. Pieces are certainly missing on several posts, where I forgot to add important details. Guess that means I should return to remind myself.
A Brief Analysis
Paris captured my attention for two weeks, therefore earning six blog posts. After, I noticed that my stays shrank: Pistoia for a week and a half, Rome for a week and two days, Stuttgart for a week, Amsterdam for four days, London for a week and three days, etc. It wasn’t that I lost interest in places, I was super excited to be moving around and exploring. Paris was my first European experience, where I felt nervous and confident at the same time. The language barrier made me nervous and sometimes awkward, but I was traveling alone for the first time, and that gave me the confidence to carry on.
Winter Break is nearly here. Everyone is excited. I recently made plans to visit Montreal for their Christmas Festival and maybe some history. I’m sure to have a post about that soon, as well as fresher words. How are you spending your holidays?
